The Fire Brigade.

An important service, the fire brigade,
If you want to join a life saving trade,
A dangerous job as everyone knows,
But very rewarding, and here's how it goes.

Building on fire it's well ablaze,
Visions of people through the smoke haze,
The brigade has arrived, the engine goes by,
The firemen are running- adrenalin high.

Childs face at the window, oh so clear,
Screaming so loudly, she's full of fear,
Up goes the ladder, ever so fast,
As all the smoke goes swirling past.

The ladder moves up, the firemen move in,
Lying on the bed is the little girls twin,
He lifts them both, with loving care,
And brings to the ground this lucky pair.

Down in the kitchen their mother is found,
So grateful her children are both safe and sound,
She thanks the firemen, one and all,
Then they're off to the station, to await their next call.

Mother's day (1).

Warm, loving, kind and true,
No one else is quite like you,
I thank god you are my mother,
Because I would not want no other.

North, South, East and west,
Mother you are simply the best,
An angel on earth, so loving and sweet,
With you no other can compete.

A special thank you for all you do,
There is no other, quite like you,
You are outstanding,unique and rare,
A wonderful mother who knows how to care.

It means a lot the whole year through,
To have a mother just like you,
You are perfect in every way,
And I wish you a happy mothers day.

Mother's Day (2).

This is a special thank you,
To one loving as can be,

For all the countless little things,
That you have done for me.

And what makes it so much nicer,
Is - you do them willingly,

I love you mum, so much more,
Than you could ever know,

And mothers day is perfect,
For me to tell you so.

Mother's Day (3).

Mothers day is the perfect day,
To say the things I want to say,
Thank you mother for being you,
I appreciate all the things you do.

You are a lady beyond compare,
Someone special, who knows how to care,
On this earth there is no other,
Could take the place of you dear mother.

Mother's Day (4).

You hold a special place,no one else can fill,
Mam I love you dearly, and I always will,
So thank you very much, for being who you are,
So loving and so caring, the sweetest mum by far.

Our Grandchildren.

Some people have a special way,
Of bringing sunshine to your day,
All our grandchildren fill us with joy,
Three lovely girls, and a two handsome boys.

When they visit, it gives us such pleasure,
To see the faces, we love and treasure,
In our heart a space only they can fill,
We love them dearly, and always will.

SIMON POTTS.

(not written by Florrie, but a nice sentiment)

The greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing:

To laugh is to risk appearing a fool.
To place your ideas and dreams before others is to risk their loss.
To live is to risk dying.

To try is to risk failure, but risks must be taken because the greatest hazard is to risk nothing.

The person who risks nothing has nothing, knows nothing, and is nothing.
Chained by their certitudes they are slaves; they have forfeited their freedom.

Only a person who risks is truly free.

Simon Potts
A character and a gentleman.

He tragically died 27 March 1999,
... while doing a parachute jump.
